Populated at the end of the first and Terra Incognita for the Europeans until the sixteenth century, Madagascar nurtured the development of a unique civilization influenced by various factors. The daily life, the customs, the arts, the common language with its multitudes of ethnical variations is the expression of an infinite diversity, between Asia and Africa.
The Highlands are characterized by a mild climate, the West is hot and dry. The East Coast is rainy, so is the hot North, while the South is semi arid.
Many religions, particularly ancestral worship, Christianity (Catholicism, Protestantism…), and Islam, coexist peacefully in Madagascar.
